JOURNEY Sacramento 2026: Where to Stay Near Golden 1
April 2026 • Events & Concerts
JOURNEY Is Coming to Sacramento's Golden 1 Center — April 22, 2026
One of rock's most iconic bands is making a stop in Sacramento, and we want to make sure you have the perfect place to stay for the experience. JOURNEY's Final Frontier Tour lands at Golden 1 Center on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 — and if you haven't locked down accommodations yet, this is your sign.
We're Ryan and Ashley, your hosts at City of Trees House in West Sacramento. We've been hosting guests for concerts, sporting events, and weekend getaways since 2017, and we know exactly how to set you up for a great night out in Sacramento. Here's everything you need to know.
About JOURNEY's Final Frontier Tour
JOURNEY has been one of America's biggest rock bands for five decades. Songs like "Don't Stop Believin'," "Faithfully," "Open Arms," and "Any Way You Want It" have become part of the cultural fabric — the kind of music that fills arenas with people who know every word. The Final Frontier Tour has been drawing massive, enthusiastic crowds across North America, and Golden 1 Center is one of the premier venues on the circuit, with incredible acoustics and great sightlines from virtually every seat.
Whether you're a lifelong fan who caught JOURNEY in the 80s or you're discovering them through playlists and karaoke nights, this is a bucket-list show. Sacramento is a perfect stop — the city knows how to host big events, the energy is always good, and Golden 1 Center consistently ranks among the top arenas in the country for concert experiences.
Where to Stay for the JOURNEY Concert in Sacramento
Skip the Downtown Hotel — Stay at City of Trees House
Downtown Sacramento hotels near Golden 1 Center run $200-350+ per night during major concert weekends. You're getting a generic room, no kitchen, no outdoor space, and parking fees stacked on top ($30-45 at downtown garages). The math doesn't work for a group trip.
City of Trees House is a different experience entirely. Our 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom private home in West Sacramento sits 10 minutes from Golden 1 Center by rideshare — close enough for a concert night, far enough from downtown noise that you'll actually sleep well after the show. Split the nightly rate across a group of four, six, or eight people and you're paying far less per person than any hotel room in the area.
What You Get at City of Trees House
- Private hot tub — Nothing beats soaking after a 3-hour rock concert. Our hot tub holds 6 people and runs at a steady 104 degrees year-round. This is where the night ends right, every time.
- Neon game room — Warm up for the show or wind down after with retro arcade games, pool table, ping pong, and darts. The neon lighting alone puts you in concert mode before you've even left the house.
- 3 full bedrooms — Primary suite with a king bed, queen room, and a bunk room. Sleep 6-8 guests comfortably, with everyone getting their own space to crash after a big night.
- Full gourmet kitchen — Pre-game at home instead of paying arena prices for a mediocre meal. We're stocked with the basics so cooking is easy.
- Tesla EV charger — Charge overnight and drive home with a full battery the next day.
- High-speed WiFi (432 Mbps) — Share your show photos and videos without waiting around.
Your JOURNEY Concert Day Timeline
Afternoon: Arrive and Set the Tone
Check in at 4 PM and make the house your own. We recommend a grocery run to Nugget Markets (10 minutes away) and a proper pre-show dinner at home. The backyard has an 8-burner Mont Alpi grill that handles everything from steaks to grilled vegetables. Eating at the house means you arrive at the venue relaxed, full, and ready — not rushed and frantic from a packed downtown restaurant on concert night.
If you want to stretch your legs before the show, walk 7 minutes to Sutter Health Park along the river for a Sacramento skyline view. Or drive 5 minutes to The Barn by Drake's Brewing for pre-show craft beers in an enormous, laid-back taproom that's become one of our favorite spots in the area. They pour some of the best IPAs in Northern California — perfect for getting the night started right.
Getting to Golden 1 Center
Golden 1 Center is 10 minutes by Lyft or Uber from our address. We strongly recommend rideshare for a concert night — parking downtown is expensive, spots fill fast on show nights, and you'll want to enjoy the evening without worrying about a designated driver. Drop-off on L Street puts you right at the main arena entrance.
If you prefer driving, the best garages are the 7th and K Street Garage and 770 L Street Garage. Arrive at least 90 minutes before showtime to find parking and clear security — JOURNEY draws big, enthusiastic crowds and the lines move slower than you'd expect.
Dinner Near Golden 1 Center
Rather eat out near the venue? Here are our go-to spots within walking distance of Golden 1 Center:
- Frank Fat's — Sacramento institution since 1939. American-Chinese cuisine in a historic dining room that has hosted politicians, celebrities, and locals for nearly a century. The honey walnut prawns are non-negotiable.
- The Porch Restaurant and Bar — Comfort food and craft cocktails, four blocks from the arena. Open late on show nights and always buzzing with pre-concert energy.
- Paragary's — Italian-California cuisine with a great bar and patio. Worth the short walk from downtown, especially on a warm April evening.
- Mikuni Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar — Reliable, fast, and good for a group that wants sushi without the wait. One of our favorites for a quick pre-show meal.
After the Show: Hot Tub Time
This is the moment our concert guests always talk about in their reviews. You come home from a 3-hour JOURNEY show — ears ringing, voice a little hoarse from belting "Don't Stop Believin'" — and step directly into a private 104-degree hot tub in a quiet, secluded backyard. String lights overhead, cold drinks within arm's reach. The concert high carries right into the water.
We've hosted guests after Kings games, River Cats games, Golden 1 Center concerts, and Performing Arts Center shows. The pattern never changes: guests thought the hot tub was a nice bonus when they booked, and it ended up being the highlight of the whole trip.
Sacramento Concert Tips from Your Local Hosts
- Doors open 90 minutes before showtime — arrive early for merch, a drink, and good viewing positions before the floor fills in.
- Golden 1 Center is cashless — all transactions require card or mobile pay. Have your wallet app ready or bring a card; cash won't work at the concessions.
- Rideshare pickup after the show is on Capitol Mall, one block south of the arena. The immediate post-show crowd at main entrances is intense. Our tip: duck into a nearby bar for one drink, then request your ride when the chaos settles — usually 20-30 minutes after the final song.
- Late April weather in Sacramento is ideal for a concert trip — highs in the mid-70s and cool evenings around 55 degrees. Light jacket for the walk back to the Uber pickup.
- Book parking in advance: Check SpotHero before the show to reserve a guaranteed spot at a lower rate than walk-up garage pricing. The difference is often $15-20 per car.
City of Trees House vs. a Downtown Hotel for Concert Weekends
Hotels are transactional. You check in, you sleep, you check out. City of Trees House is a base camp for your Sacramento experience — somewhere you actually want to hang out before and after the main event. The game room handles your pre-show energy. The grill handles a proper meal. The hot tub handles everything that happens after "Don't Stop Believin'" echoes its last note at Golden 1 Center.
A single downtown hotel room during a major concert weekend runs $200-350 per night. City of Trees House sleeps your entire group for less than that per night total — and includes the hot tub, neon game room, full kitchen, and private fenced backyard that a hotel literally cannot offer.
Book direct at goodreviewsonly.com and save the 14-17% Airbnb tacks on as service fees. Use promo code DIRECT5 at checkout for an additional 5% off your stay. That's real money back in your pocket — put it toward better seats, merch, or one more round at the show.
